What is Counselling?
Counselling is a process in which you can share personal and or emotional difficulties. It does not judge you but works towards you gaining an insight and understanding about your problems. Counselling offers an opportunity to discover ways and develop strategies for resolving difficulties that cause distress. It is not always easy and requires a commitment and willingness to stay in the process, sometimes confronting issues which are painful.
Therapy for individuals, couples and young people.
I offer time limited counselling (a fixed contract for a number of sessions) or longer term open ended work, regularly reviewed. I will listen to you and help you reflect on what you bring and where appropriate to develop strategies to move on in a more productive way for yourself. I do not provide a diagnosis or a cure. I try to help you to discover and develop your own abilities for dealing with the problem. Counselling services include:
My clients come to me from Bicester and surrounding areas in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, drawn by my excellent reputation. I have been helping people work through their difficulties for more than ten years and have a breadth of experience to help with a wide, range of issues. If you choose to come to me my fee is usually £45. However, any financial concerns that you may have can be discussed with you at your initial assessment. Please ring to make an appointment or leave a message on my answer phone and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am looking forward to meeting and working with you.
Your confidentiality is assured at all times. The only exceptions are if you share that you could be in serious danger to yourself or someone else, or a court orders me. In these situations I would discuss with you who else needs to be involved to ensure your and anyone else's safety and well being.
